My Favorite Cow Girl

Meet Gateway (I originally intended to name her Annie Oakley). She is one of the many feral (possibly homeless) felines that prowl my neighborhood. I had seen her around many times before, but last year she began making regular nightly appearances at my doorstep. At first, I refused to reward her panhandling, but I eventually caved when I realized how uber affectionate she was and that she was a single mother of two kittens. And so began my descent into Crazy Cat Ladyship.

To make a long story short, she ended up weaning off her kittens, both of whom I never really liked. Then she ended up having three more, all of whom are extremely cute and curious! As heartwarming as it is to see them so happy in my backyard, I would like to see all of them as the pets of a loving home. Unfortunately, most people won't take in an adult stray cat and her kittens would be separated from each other.

Enter the SPCA East Bay Feral Fix program. They provide feral cat/dog traps to local residents to catch the animals and bring them in to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and flea-freed then eventually released back from whence they came (if they likely wouldn't be adopted). I called them and left a message on their machine, stating my situation and interest in their program. However, they haven't gotten back to me yet and I'm moving soon.

Hopefully, they'll be returning my call!

Aww! She's such a pretty little girl.. I hope they return your call. I don't trust that they'll be taken care of once you leave. ) :

P.S. It's nice to see you're finally admitting that YOU are the crazy one! :D
